Beginning as a pipedream to bring Melbourne’s most unique and inspiring wedding suppliers together, Australia’s first boutique wedding market has grown into what will be a breathtakingly original event nationwide. The Portobello Bride Wedding Market will take place on 26 – 27 March at the St Kilda Town Hall and 27 – 28 August at the Paddington Town Hall in Sydney. Adelaide and Perth will host markets in 2012.

 

"The response from both wedding suppliers and engaged couples has been overwhelming, it is evident that the Australian wedding industry is ready for change. Couples are also looking for fresh modern resources to help plan their wedding, and we are passionate about producing both social and online planning tools to connect the modern engaged couple with wedding professionals they want to use," said creator and founder Kim Billing.

 

Portobello Bride will provide a casual marketplace atmosphere with over 30 stall holders and three distinct features; The Bridal Salon, the ‘Bride to Be’ Lounge and the Grooms Lounge. 

 

Harpist and French singer, Anna Boulic, will entertain guests as they enjoy a Parisian style fashion show in The Bridal Salon ($35 entry, includes general admission). Models will showcase various bridal looks from the bohemian, vintage, modern and romantic genres. The market will be interactive with workshops for inspiring tips on style boards, DIY stationery, floral arrangements and centrepieces.

 

Guests will also have the chance to win an amazing honeymoon from Intrepid Travel and receive exclusive goodie bags filled with treats from Portobello Brides' favourite wedding suppliers.
