Staple Soles
The five types of shoes that every woman should own…
The strappy sandals
The basic leather strappy flat sandal is perfect for relaxed days or the days we decide our feet should relax, even if we can’t! The wide range of styles and colours that emerge every summer mean that there is a flat sandal for almost everyone’s individual style and taste. We love Sam Edelman’s Gigi T Stap Sandals (RRP: $66.00) available in a wide range of colours from www.shopbop.com.
The ballet flat
The ballet flat is a classic and essential everyday shoe. Ballet flats are a favourite for pairing with work wear due to how comfortable yet sophisticated and stylish they are. A lower-cut style will be more flattering on your legs. We love the Tony Bianco Maddy Ballet Flat in a variety of colours (RRP: $129.95), available from www.tonybianco.com.au.
The booties
Never underestimate the power of the bootie! Booties with a small heel are dressier than flat boots but are still very comfortable. Being very versatile, booties work for all seasons. Wear them with jeans or pants in winter and then add a bit of edge to a flirty dress with a pair of booties in summer. We love the Rag & Bone Classic Newbury Booties (RRP: $495) and at a lower cost, the Dolce Vita Jackal Suede Booties (RRP: $99.58), which are available from www.shopbop.com.
The black pumps
The black pump can be worn with anything, never dates and if you invest in a good quality shoe, will last you for years to come. The pump’s round toe is more flattering than that of pointed heels and instantly makes legs appear longer. We love the Tony Bianco Tuscan pump in Black Turin (RRP: $190) available from www.santini.com.au.
The wedge
Wedges are the best alternative to the high heel as they have the same effect as heels but tend to be much more comfortable. The wedge can be worn to dress down or dress up an outfit as well as a daytime alternative when heels are just too much. Wedges are also a vacation must-have. We love the Steve Madden Xcess Wedge (RRP: $119.95), available from www.theiconic.com.au
